• A 3,000-year-old gold mining operation, including mining tools and residential areas, has been discovered in Egypt’s Sukari Mountains; the entire camp has been moved nearly two miles away to separate it from the modern mine at the site.
• The funerary equipment of Kha and Merit is now back on public display in a newly designed exhibition at the Museo Egizio in Turin that includes objects never before exhibited.

• Visitors to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) are now able to see Khufu’s second boat, as the preserved timbers have been reassembled and installed on a metal structure in one of the galleries.

• The Sudanese government has recovered 570 objects looted from the National Museum in Khartoum; over 4,000 artefacts have been lost from the museum since war broke out three years ago.
