Liberty: Don Troiani’s Paintings of the Revolutionary War
Renowned artist Don Troiani has dedicated much of his career to creating well-researched depictions of the Revolutionary War, including crucial moments such as Bunker Hill and Cowpens. For the first time in a museum, this exhibition brings together over 40 of Troiani’s original war paintings. The exhibit will also unveil Troiani’s latest work, a painting of the young African American sailor James Forten witnessing Black and Native American troops in the ranks of the Continental Army as they march past Independence Hall on their way to Yorktown, Virginia.

Generations: portraits of Holocaust survivors
This exhibition displays more than 50 contemporary portraits of Holocaust survivors and their families for the first time. It is composed of work from 13 photographers, all of whom are members of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), including Frederic Aranda, Sian Bonnell, and Tom Hunter. Pictured here is one of Hunter’s works, featuring Sigi Ciffer, whose family were murdered in the Holocaust. Along with the RPS, the exhibition is run in partnership with Jewish News, the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, and Dangoor Education.

Empires at War: Austria and Russia
Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, were assassinated on a fateful day in June 1914. Austria accused Serbia of being behind the killing, prompting the Russian Empire to defend its Slavic ally. Soon, there was war on the Eastern Front. The conflict, before it spread to the West, is the focus of this new exhibition. It features original objects from the museum’s collection, including authentic Austrian and Russian uniforms, equipment, flags, hats, helmets, and more. Harder to acquire than material culture from the Western European powers, the items have been brought together to shed new light on the war’s Eastern calamity.
