A group of 20 Late Period burials with golden amulets has been uncovered in the Tell el-Deir necropolis in New Damietta.

The Egyptian team discovered structures ranging from simple burial pits to more elaborate mud-brick structures dating to the Twenty-sixth Dynasty.

The burials contained bodies that were covered with thin gold foils in the shapes of Isis, Bastet, and other deities, together with scarabs and miniature model canopic jars.
