Royal tomb discovered near Valley of the Kings

The tomb is thought to date to the Eighteenth Dynasty

A joint British-Egyptian team has just announced the discovery of a royal tomb in the Western Valley (which lies adjacent to the Valley of the Kings at Luxor).

The tomb, located in Valley C, is thought to date to the Eighteenth Dynasty and may belong to a wife or princess from the Thutmosid era.

Sadly the tomb suffered flood damage in antiquity and is in a poor state of preservation; the sand and stone debris filling the burial chambers could take many months to clear.
