•A joint Egyptian-American mission has found the missing upper part of a large Ramesses II statue. It was discovered at el-Ashmunein (el-Minya), more than 90 years after the lower part was uncovered at the same location.

•Austrian researchers claim to have found the skull of Arsinoë IV, sister to Cleopatra VII, in the University of Vienna’s collection. They believe her remains were originally buried in an octagonal tomb in Ephesus.
•The tomb of the Eighteenth Dynasty scribe Neferhotep (TT49) has been reopened to the public following more than 20 years of restoration work by an Argentine mission.

•A 1.2 km tourist walkway is being created to link the Pyramids area at Giza with the new Grand Egyptian Musem (GEM).
•Solar power plants have been set up at five Egyptian World Heritage sites and museums, including the Pyramids of Giza visitor centre, and the Sharm el-Sheikh Museum.
•Berlin is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Nefertiti bust going on public display.
