TOP OF THE PYRAMIDS: THE CIVILISATION OF ANCIENT EGYPT
This exhibition, co-hosted by the Shanghai Museum and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, has more than 780 ancient Egyptian artefacts on loan from Egyptian museums, most never before displayed in Asia. A number of Chinese artefacts are included in the exhibition, allowing visitors to explore comparisons between the two civilisations. Visitors can also enjoy an immersive experience, Disappearing Pharaoh Khufu.

DISPLACED: FROM THE NILE TO THE DERWENT
A re-examination of the museum’s Egyptology collection and its history, Displaced looks at the ethics of archaeology and explores the colonial origins of material in British institutions. There are more than 80 objects on display, including three mummies, and artefacts from the British Museum, Manchester Museum, and private collections.

GOING FORTH BY DAY: THE BOOK OF THE DEAD OF THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS
To explore The Book of the Dead, the museumis displaying 70 pieces from its collection and documents from the Jordi Clos Llombart Library, many for the first time. Highlights include a full-scale photographic reproduction of The Papyrus of Ani.

CREATURES OF THE NILE
Featuring more than 250 artefacts from the University of Liverpool’s Garstang Museum, National Museums Liverpool, and Manchester Museum, this exhibition explores the role of animals in ancient Egypt and Sudan. It also examines the impact of climate change and human exploitation of resources.
