Coastal erosion threatens archaeological sites in Libya

The study suggests that the archaeological sites of Apollonia, Ptolemais, and Tocra are at risk of extensive erosion.

Here we see Nic Flemming on the left with the underwater movie camera, and Martin Minns on the right with the measuring reel that contained a 50m copper wire, marked in metres. The wire was used to measure the dimensions of individual buildings on the sea floor.
