THE BELOVED OF ISIS: NERO, THE DOMUS AUREA, AND EGYPT

This exhibition explores the links between Rome and Egypt in the 1st century AD, and Emperor Nero’s special relationship with Egypt. It includes multimedia exhibits and more than 150 artefacts from international collections, including a monumental statue of Thutmose I from the Egyptian Museum, and portrait busts of Nero himself, displayed inside the Domus Aurea itself.

EGYPTIAN MUMMIES: EXPLORING ANCIENT LIVES

A touring exhibition organised by La Caixa Foundation, in collaboration with the British Museum, Egyptian Mummies now reaches Valencia. The exhibition explores the hidden history behind six ancient Egyptian mummies, as revealed by state-of-the-art, non-invasive technology.

FACE TO FACE: THE PEOPLE BEHIND MUMMY PORTRAITS

Face to Face displays more than 30 Roman Egyptian mummy portraits from the Allard Pierson Museum, the Louvre, the J Paul Getty Museum, and other international collections. The exhibition highlights the current state of knowledge about mummy portraiture, introducing visitors not only to the people portrayed in the masks, but also to the artisans who created these images, and the collectors, archaeologists, and researchers connected to each portrait.

TUTANKHAMUN: DISCOVERING THE FORGOTTEN PHARAOH

Walk in the footsteps of Howard Carter in this travelling exhibition of 242 replicas from the workshops of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The three burial chambers of Tutankhamun’s tomb have been recreated, so the visitor can step inside the famous tomb and see it as it was when it was discovered. The exhibition also includes reconstructions of daily life in ancient Egypt.

RAMSES THE GREAT AND THE GOLD OF THE PHARAOHS

Exploring the life, reign and legacy of Ramesses II, this international touring exhibition displays more than 180 artefacts from the Nineteenth Dynasty, including sarcophagi, mummies, jewellery, royal masks, amulets, statues, and a colossal limestone standing statue of the king.
