Are you interested in learning the basic techniques of excavation and finds-handling, or the principles of geo-physics surveying, on an archaeological site?
If so, you can join an Archaeology Experience Weekend run by Copped Hall Trust. The weekends are run throughout July at Copped Hall, near Epping. Designed for absolute beginners, people of all ages (8 years and above) and backgrounds are welcome. The Trust Aims aim is to involve students as fully as possible in activities such as further excavating, examining, recording, surveying, and interpreting the remains of the brick-built mansion and the associated features and structures which are being revealed on the site.
The cost is £60 for each weekend (not inclusive of travel, food or accommodation). The weekends are: 15th-16th, 22nd-23rd, 29th-30th July.
Participants must be 8yrs or above to attend, and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
